Connect outside agents

Already work with an AI agent such as Codex? Let it use your Xandria library: it can search your books, read the passages, and draft notes, with the same approvals as the built-in Agent.

Xandria connects to outside agents through MCP (the Model Context Protocol), the standard way agents use tools.

Turn it on

1. Open Settings → AI → Permissions.
2. Turn on External control.
3. Follow the setup shown there to add Xandria to your agent.

External control is off until you turn it on, and it works only while Xandria is open and you're signed in.

What an outside agent can do

The same things as the built-in Agent: search and read your library, open books at a page, work with Notes, Canvas and Collections. Changes still wait for your approval in Xandria, unless you've turned on automatic approval.

Turn it off

Turn External control off at any time. Connected agents lose access straight away.
