Install on Linux

Xandria for Linux comes as an AppImage or a .deb package for Intel/AMD 64-bit PCs running Ubuntu 22.04 or later, or another current distribution. An ARM64 AppImage is also available as a preview.

  • AppImage: one file that runs without installing anything.
  • .deb package: installs Xandria on Ubuntu, Debian and their relatives.

AppImage

  1. Download the .AppImage file and verify the download.

  2. Make it executable and run it:

    sh
    chmod +x <file-name>.AppImage
    ./<file-name>.AppImage
  3. Choose how to start: see First launch and sign in.

.deb package

  1. Download the .deb file and verify the download.

  2. Install it from a terminal in the folder you downloaded it to:

    sh
    sudo apt install ./xandria_<version>_amd64.deb
  3. Open Xandria from your applications, or run xandria.

  4. Choose how to start: see First launch and sign in.

Check the download

Signed releases include SHA256SUMS and SHA256SUMS.asc. Download those files along with the app and the Xandria release key, saving the key as release-key.asc. You need GnuPG (gpg) to verify the release signature before running or installing anything.

Show the public key and compare its full primary fingerprint with the Xandria release fingerprint below:

sh
gpg --show-keys --with-fingerprint release-key.asc
text
273F BC42 ADFF C137 2076 FCF0 93EA FD88 CD05 E6E1

If it matches, import the key and verify the file list:

sh
gpg --import release-key.asc
gpg --verify SHA256SUMS.asc SHA256SUMS

Continue only when the signature is valid for the fingerprint above. GPG may warn that the key is not certified; compare the full fingerprint to establish which key you trust. Then check the files you downloaded:

sh
sha256sum --check --ignore-missing SHA256SUMS

If the app you downloaded isn't listed as OK, don't use it. A local apt install ./file.deb does not automatically check these detached signatures. These downloads use manual updates.

Uninstall

Delete the AppImage file, or remove the package:

sh
sudo apt remove xandria
