Use Cloud on this device
Use Cloud on this device throws away this computer's copy of your library and downloads a fresh one from your account. It's the fix when this computer's library is out of step with your account and ordinary syncing can't bring it back.
It changes this computer only. Your account's library and your other devices stay exactly as they are.
When to use it
- Xandria says Your Personal Cloud library was replaced on another computer. This computer's unsynced changes can't be applied any more; this is the only way forward, and Xandria opens the option for you.
- You're turning on sync and you'd rather have your account's library here than merge this computer's into it.
- This computer is in Local mode and you want your account's library here instead of the Local one.
Don't use it for an ordinary offline gap: changes made offline sync on their own when you reconnect.
What you lose
Everything that exists only on this computer is deleted, with no recovery copy:
- changes that haven't synced yet;
- in Local mode, the whole Local library;
- book uploads, details edits and linked-folder scans that were still waiting.
Your book files on disk are never deleted.
Do it
- Open Settings → Account and expand Troubleshooting.
- Under Use Cloud on this device, choose Review device repair….
- Read the confirmation and choose Use Cloud on this device.
Xandria downloads and verifies a fresh copy first (Download and verify), then switches to it (Switch). Editing pauses meanwhile. Until the switch, Cancel and retain previous library stops and keeps everything as it was.
If the download stops, choose Retry device repair, or Sign in again if your sign-in expired.
Phones and tablets do this on their own when needed; there's nothing to choose.
