Recover your work
Xandria is built so that ordinary mistakes are undoable and nothing is thrown away without asking you first. Start with the gentlest fix that matches what happened.
| What happened | What to do |
|---|---|
| You deleted a note, board, Collection, list or book | Restore it from the Trash within 90 days. |
| You changed a note or board and want it back | Use Undo while it's open. |
| Xandria closed during an edit | Look in Trash → Device recovery and choose Recover a copy. See Trash and restore. |
| You worked offline | Nothing to do: your changes sync when you reconnect. See Read offline. |
| Sync setup stopped halfway | Open Xandria again; it carries on. Choose Retry setup or Sign in again if it asks. |
| Your sign-in expired | Choose Sign in again. Your library and unsynced work stay on this computer. |
| A book's file moved or its drive is unplugged | Reconnect the drive, or use Locate…. See Local mode. |
| This computer's synced library is broken or out of date | Use Cloud on this device. |
| Your account's library is wrong and this computer has the right one | Replace Cloud with this library. |
Unsynced work
Edits you make are saved on your computer the moment you make them, and sync in the background. To keep unsynced work safe:
- Close Xandria normally. It finishes saving before it quits. If saving fails, it stays open so you can try again.
- Don't delete Xandria's data folder or uninstall and reinstall to fix a problem. Reinstalling doesn't help, and your unsynced work lives there.
- Signing out doesn't lose work. Unsynced changes wait on this computer and sync when you sign back in.
The two last-resort repairs
Two repairs replace one library with another. Both are in Settings → Account → Troubleshooting, both ask you to confirm, and both are permanent:
- Use Cloud on this device replaces this computer's library with a fresh copy from your account. Changes only on this computer are discarded. Your account and other devices don't change.
- Replace Cloud with this library replaces your account's library with this computer's. Anything only in your account is deleted, and your other devices reload it.
Neither repair keeps a backup of what it replaces. Use them only when the everyday fixes above don't apply.
