Add books and papers
Open Manage Library from the rail, then Import. How you add books depends on whether sync is on.
In Local mode
Link a folder and Xandria reads its books where they are, without copying or changing them. New books you put in the folder appear on their own. See Local mode.
With sync on
- Choose Files… or Folder…, or drop files and folders onto the upload area.
- Xandria uploads everything it can read to your library and tells you about anything it skipped.
You can also link a folder under Folders on This Device: its books upload while Xandria is open, and new ones follow on their own.
Uploading keeps going in the background. If you close Xandria or lose your connection, it picks up where it stopped. Use Pause and Resume All to control it.
What happens next
Each new book appears in your Library as soon as it's ready, with a cover and its details. Xandria then reads its text in the background so you can search inside it, and, in Local mode with Semantic Search on, search it by meaning.
- Your files aren't changed. Xandria keeps your originals exactly as they were.
- No duplicates. Adding a file you already have is recognized; you won't get a second copy.
- Highlights already in a PDF become a notebook for that book.
Books or papers
Xandria sorts what you add into Books, Papers and Documents. You can correct the title, authors and other details of anything in your library from its details page.
See Supported formats for what Xandria can open.
