Xandria Device Sync

Device Sync keeps one Xandria library on all your devices and stores it safely in the cloud. Read a chapter on your computer, carry on from the same page on your phone, and find your highlights and notes waiting on both. Lose or replace a device, sign in on the new one, and your library is all there.

Device Sync used to be called Cloud Sync. It's the same service under a clearer name.

Stored in the cloud

Device Sync keeps your library in your Xandria account, not only on your devices. Your books, your place in each one, highlights, notes and boards are stored there, so a new, replaced or wiped device gets everything back when you sign in.

Device Sync mirrors your changes: something you delete is deleted on every device. It goes to the Trash first, where you can restore it for 90 days.

What syncs

  • Your books, papers and documents. Files download when you open them, or ahead of time if you choose to keep them on the device.
  • Your place in every book, so you can stop on one device and resume on another.
  • Highlights, highlight notes and bookmarks.
  • Notes, book notebooks, Canvas boards and your Wiki.
  • Collections, reading lists and Read Later.

Downloaded books stay readable offline. What you do offline syncs when you reconnect. Chats with the AI Agent stay on the computer where you had them.

Which devices

  • Xandria for Windows, macOS and Linux.
  • Xandria for Android, iPhone and iPad. See Xandria on mobile.

Sign in with the same Xandria account on each one. See Work across your devices.

Free, or with Device Sync

Xandria is free on a single device, with or without an account: the reader, highlights, Notes, Canvas, search and AI all work without Device Sync. See Local mode.

Device Sync is a monthly subscription priced by storage: 10 GB, 50 GB or 250 GB. See Pricing.

Subscribe and manage your plan on xandria.me

You subscribe to Device Sync, change its storage or cancel it in your Xandria account, in a web browser:

  1. Go to xandria.me and choose Sign in.
  2. Choose a storage size and pay on the checkout page.
  3. On your computer, open Xandria and choose Turn on sync in Settings → Account. Phones and tablets start syncing on their own.

Step by step: Subscribe to Device Sync, Turn on sync and Change storage or cancel.

Why can't I subscribe in the phone app?

The Android and iPhone apps don't sell subscriptions. You subscribe and manage your plan on xandria.me in a browser, and the apps sign in to the same account. Once Device Sync is on, the app's Settings → Device Sync shows it, and your library follows you.

If your subscription ends

Nothing is deleted. Each device keeps the library it has and you can keep reading; syncing pauses until you subscribe again. To stop syncing one device only, see Turn off sync on this device.

Teams

A Team library syncs for every member as part of the Team's own plan. Joining a Team doesn't need Device Sync. See How Teams work.

Common questions

Is there a Xandria cloud? Yes: Device Sync stores your library in your Xandria account so it's safe if you lose a device and can reach your other devices. Without it, your library stays on the device you're using.

Is Device Sync a backup? It keeps a full copy of your library in the cloud, so losing a device doesn't lose your library. It isn't a history of older versions: deletions sync too, so restore deleted items from the Trash within 90 days.

How do I sync Xandria between my phone and my computer? Subscribe to Device Sync on xandria.me, turn on sync on your computer, then sign in to the phone app with the same account.

Do I need Device Sync to read on my phone? No. Reading on a single device is free.

Where do I cancel? In your account on xandria.me. See Change storage or cancel.
